CouchDB

CouchDB is one of the most web oriented modern technologies, specially designed for use with mobile and web applications. The technology allows web developers to store data with JSON documents, access them via HTTP, index and transform them with Javascript and even serve an app directly out of the database. Along with that, CouchDB is designed with a special focus on distributed scaling and allows efficient distribution of data via incremental replication with automatic conflict detection.
